The website http://www.eeic.org was created by Mr. Peter Wong in 1996. The original name of the website was “Electronic & Electrical Internet Club” and was used to introduce new materials and market information to our customers.? Further our meeting with our founding member in 2004, we incorporated EEIC. Its mission is to strengthen the Electrical and Electronic technology and commercial information exchange in The Asia-Pacific Region including China; Hong Kong, Japan, Korea & South East Asia. It also serves as a connection to the associates in North America and Europe. We represent leading companies, and top performers looking to make a difference in their field throughout Asia Pacific as well as China.

The Association is designed to provide information about management, HR, technical and safety standards, registration, compliance and technical trends relevant to the worldwide industry through the Internet. ?An annual conference is held in the Asia Pacific region and aims to bring together academics and practitioners and expanding relationships and the development and sharing of knowledge.

EEIC will further strengthen its services in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region by helping members tackle challenges and grasp new opportunities during the time when investment and industrial policies are transforming in Guangdong and the Mainland. Electronic industries had played an indispensably important role in the economic take off of Hong Kong. It brought in the last few decades tremendous wealth and prosperity not only to Hong Kong but to the entire Pearl River Delta and beyond. The continuous streams of investment from companies of Hong Kong, multinationals corporations of foreign countries and the likes had turned the region the most important cluster of manufacturing industries for the global electronics marketplaces. The rapidly advancing electronics industries in global terms has had however presented some very acute challenges to the local players in Hong Kong and PRD.

The electronic industries of Hong Kong had been very busy with the compliance of WEEE and RoHS in the last few years. This of course is a major challenge and of extreme importance for the industry in short to medium term, we cannot however evade ourselves of the question of the long well being of the industry, and whether there is anything the industry can do on a collective basis.
We’ll continue to enhance the effectiveness of the communication mechanism with officials of different levels of governments in the China. We will also step up cooperation with the Hong Kong Government’s Economic and Trade Office in Far East Countries to construct more channels of information collection and distribution to benefit our members operating in the Asia Pacific Region.
